Violet Wands were developed at the turn of the 20th Century to take advantage of the supposed medical benefits of electricity. Each of the glass instruments fit into the handle and the machine generates a continuous spark which can be applied with interesting effects to various parts of the body. The strength of the voltage can be controlled by the dial shown. This is an old instrument and uses mains electricity. Like all electrical items it should be used with knowledge and caution.
