The Authors

They are a male Master and a female submissive. Both are in their 40's.

Master finding BDSM young, explored and enjoyed learning about the lifestyle before eventually collaring a submissive. A few years later, her death made Him turn away from the lifestyle. Some ten years later as his vanilla marriage was falling apart, He stumbled over the lifestyle again via Internet chat rooms.

submissive like her Master found the lifestyle young. When she came to the Internet chat room, where she met her Master, she was very unhappy, drinking far too much, not able to see a way out of her unhappy D/s marriage, a marriage that had lasted over 20 years.

From the first time they spoke on line the attraction and compelling need to talk to each other was overwhelming.

During the period of time they spent getting to know each other via the Internet Chat rooms submissive confided in Master that she wrote poetry, something she had never told anyone before. She had written poems all her life, but shown them to no-one, feeling they were silly. Master told her different and for the first time her poems were read by another and not torn up and thrown away lost for ever.

The following poems show that even in a chat room, Masters presence had a calming effect on her troubled life.

Which way to look
Which way to go
How to react
i did not know

What should i do?
What did it mean?
How to get by
Words on a screen

Your name appears
You're by my side
How to's no longer
Your there, my guide

As it should be

Look for Your name
Not on the list
I sit and wait
Names come and go
But not the one
I long to see
Then you arrive
The room lights up
The room greets you
I wait my turn
You turn to me
The room is now
How it should be

Master and submissive could not keep their relationship just on line. They had to meet to see if what they had on-line converted to real life. Once they had finally met there was no denying it, they were in love. The following poem is still Masters favourite, submissive wrote it for Him after one of their first meetings

A Kiss by The River

You took my hand, leading me along the river path.
You kissed my lips, held me close, the world stopped spinning
and as time stood still, even the river stopped flowing.
Then the breeze that was almost there, stroked me,
and as my head spun, so the world started turning,
but not for us, held in time, in each others eyes.
Alone and together, by the silent river.
In a time just for us, a time of total love.

The next months were some of the hardest of their lives as they came to terms with the fact that, for them to be happy they would need to hurt so many others.

The next section tells of their time living a lie, being with their respective families but longing to be together. It also shows the struggle to make the final decision to be together
